Rwanda Partners is dedicated to facilitating investment in Rwanda by connecting US businesses to opportunities in Rwanda.

Since the end of the 1994 genocide, Rwanda's transition from emergency to sustainable development has required exceptional efforts by the Government.  It has put in place policies and programs to rebuild society, facilitate national reintegration and reconstruction, and lay the basis for sustained economic growth and poverty reduction.  However, despite all of these accomplishments, Rwanda needs the support of international investors to further overcome the legacy of genocide so that it can focus on the difficult agenda of long-term development.

This is a time of great optimism in Rwanda following successful free democratic elections in 2003.  The government of Rwanda is strongly committed to an all inclusive economic system that allows effective participation of all social and economic groups in the population, in particular, creating an environment that encourages private sector development, increasing the effectiveness of the state while reducing the role of the public sector.

Since 1994, Rwanda has consolidated the foundations of democracy and a transparent, open economy.

  • Rwanda was rated #1 in the world by the World Bank for good governance amongst developing nations (transparency and lack of corruption)
  • Strong political leadership committed to private sector growth and development with a strong privatization program
  • Since the year 2000 Rwanda has seen spectacular GDP growth at an average rate of 10% with local and foreign businesses investing in the economy
  • A low rate of inflation (3.2%)
  • Macroeconomic stability, along with economic reforms and programs that reduce poverty and empower the population facilitates the national reconciliation and reintegration process.  This involves (in the initial stages) raising agricultural productivity, rural incomes, off-farm employment and skill formation
