OUR PARTNERS

African Evangelistic Enterprise/Rwanda (AEE/Rwanda)

AEE Rwanda is member of an international evangelistic development agency called African Enterprise that operates in 10 African nations. AEE/Rwanda , under the former leadership of Antoine Rutayisire and the current leadership of John Kalenzi, has played a crucial role in the healing, revival and transformation of Rwanda since the 1994 genocide. The organization has also made a significant impact socially through a variety of programs in reconciliation, housing, health and education.

Le Rucher Ministries, Great Lakes Region

Le Rucher Ministries, Great Lakes Region is run by long-time friend of Rwanda Partners Joseph Nyamutera. The ministry has a strong presence in the Great Lakes region of Africa serving war torn countries and countries with a history of ethnic division. A faith-based organization, LRMGLR has three areas of ministry: member care, reconciliation, and community development, which work in tandem for the ultimate aim of achieving peaceful and restored communities.

Speak I’m Listening Rwanda

Speak I’m Listening Rwanda has been at the forefront of women’s issues in Rwanda. It works with the most vulnerable women (mainly widows and survivors of the genocide), providing much needed counseling, care and skills training to these women and their families.

CEFORMI Vocational Training School

CEFORMI is a vocational training school in Kigali for vulnerable youth, many of them genocide survivors ages 18 – 26, run by Headmaster Rev. Japhet Ndoriyobijya. This school trains these impoverished students who are unable to continue in the traditional school system, providing them with job skills and tangible work that will enable them to care for themselves and their families. Training is given in carpentry, plumbing, metalwork, electrical, and sewing. The students of CEFORMI sew the uniforms for street students in our Uniforms Transform Campaign as well as completing other sewing projects.

Muhumurize Catch-Up School and MEJECRES Catch-Up School

Muhumurize Catch-Up School (a name that means “Comfort Them”) is a school for street children run by Theoneste Biseruka. This school serves 251 street children in Kigali. MEJECRES (an acronym that means Hope for the Children) serves 411 street students in Kigali and is run by Alexis Ruhumuriza. These schools provide their students with the equivalent of a 6 year primary school education in only three years – thus “catching them up” to other children who have had the resources to attend school. The children attending Muhumurize and MEJECRES are rescued from a life of hopelessness, and in most cases homelessness. While some have a parent or caregiver, there was no income to allow them to attend school so they have been forced to a life on the streets to fend for themselves. For those who are without any adult caregiver in their lives, many of them lost these adults to the genocide or to AIDS.
